The other night, relaxing on the couch in the lounge, Leia went to go stand by Ricky’s feet and said “Piggy! Piggy! Home! Piggy!”, wiggeling each toe as she said a word and then went “Wee! Wee! Wee!” up the leg to tickle Ricky in his ribs!

It was the sweetest thing! Out of her own, she tried to do the “This little piggy” rhyme that we normally play with her and Miya. She enjoyed it so much, laughing and giggling as she did it again and again and again.

The frog that climbs “Schloop – schloop”

I’ve been doing frogs with Miya for the past while as a homeschool theme and of course, Leia hangs around and when there are crafts to make, she joins in and she listens to stories and so on, but exactly *how* much she takes in, completely flabbergasted me…

Last night, while going through a little book called “Nature” which is a baby picture-word book, one of the pages had a picture of a tree frog, and she excitedly pointed to it and said “Look, Mommy! Froggy! Climbs.”, and while she pressed her fingertips on my hands like the suckers of the climbing tree frog’s front feet, she said “Schloop-schloop! Froggy climb leaf.”

Um. Ok.

Agge man alive! It is the sweetest thing ever! This morning, Rick was talking to Leia and she was telling him all about some book or another and when he asked her where this book was, she looked around, lifted up her little hands and said “I dun know”, with a cute little just-not-quite-right baby pronunciation!

Bab = bath

Miya just reminded me this afternoon, as I got their bath ready that Leia used to call a bath a bab. Now, grown up so quickly and with a fantabulistically amazing vocabulary and pronunciation (for a not even two year old), she says it almost too correctly: “Mommy, Leia bath now, okay?”

Miya, out of her own today, played Mary had a Little Lamb in Sol-Mi-Do position! Adapting her lessons to whatever she wants to experiment with, going beyond the necessary, playing with her possibilities. So proud.

Oh… just by the way, I asked her today if she really liked her music class now that she’s playing on the keyboard and she said “Yes, I like it so much. I think we can now get a real piano for the house also for me to play on.”

Story

Today, when Rick came home, I started telling him about our day and got to “And at swimming today…” and then Leia took over with “Tswim tswim, Daddy!” accented with swimming hand gestures, followed by “Og! Leia tswimming, schloop (slurping noise while mimicking drinking water with bowed head). Tummy sore (pats tummy). Bleargh (throw-up/burpy sound with hand and body mimicking getting sick). Og! Leia tired.”

And that is exactly the story! She drank too much water, got sick, threw up and was not feeling nice and was tired so we stopped the lesson.
